Michael A. Kiener
Michael works in civil litigation, health law and privacy law. Michael has represented individuals and patients on health care privacy rights and medical confidentiality, and he has defended health care providers in contract disputes.

Michael obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Bioethics from Concordia University Wisconsin, where he also received a Graduate Certificate in Bioethics. He served as a graduate teaching assistant at CUW, instructing and evaluating coursework for Philosophy 101.
Michael received his Juris Doctor from Marquette University Law School in 2022. While in law school, he assisted Professor Melissa Love-Koenig, researching the application of rhetoric in modern philosophy to legal writing.
Furthermore, Michael served as a student mediator for Milwaukee Small Claims Court and completed an internship at the Medical College of Wisconsin’s Office of Risk Management. He also participated in intramural and regional negotiation competitions.
Prior to joining Zimmer & Rens LLC, Michael worked as a law clerk for End, Hierseman & Crain, LLC, a highly respected plaintiff’s medical malpractice and personal injury law firm, where he worked on cases involving birth injury, retained surgical objects, failure to diagnose, and medical negligence.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Michael enjoys spending time with his family, cultivating super-hot peppers, watching the Green Bay Packers, and outdoor activities.
