Michael A. Kiener
Michael works in civil litigation, health law and privacy law. Michael has represented individuals and patients on health care privacy rights and medical confidentiality, and he has defended health care providers in contract disputes.
Michael received his B.A. from Concordia University Wisconsin in Philosophy and Bioethics (individualized major). He also received a Graduate Certificate in Bioethics from CUW. Michael worked as a graduate assistant at CUW teaching and grading assignments for Philosophy 101.
Michael received his J.D. from Marquette University Law School in 2022. While in law school, he served as a graduate assistant to Professor Melissa Love-Koenig researching rhetoric in modern philosophers and its application to legal writing.
In addition, Michael was a student mediator who conducted mediations for Small Claims Court in Milwaukee. He also interned at the Medical College of Wisconsin’s Office of Risk Management. He also competed in intramural and regional negotiation competitions.
Prior to joining Zimmer & Rens, Michael worked as a law clerk for End, Hierseman & Crain, LLC, a highly respected plaintiff’s medical malpractice and personal injury law firm, where he worked on cases involving birth injury, retained surgical objects, failure to diagnose, and medical negligence.
In his free time, Michael enjoys spending time with his family, growing super-hot peppers, watching the Packers, and being outdoors.
